Cresco Labs, a Chicago-primarily based multistate cannabis operator, stated it received prequalification licensing approval to enter the Michigan cannabis industry.

The firm, which earlier this month stated it plans to obtain Florida-primarily based health-related marijuana group VidaCann for $120 million, would have production and retail operations in 11 states as soon as all outstanding applications are authorized.

Cresco has applied to create a production and processing facility in a 100,000-square-foot former factory in Marshall, Michigan.
