A Florida Home committee desires to limit the strength of smokable health-related marijuana to 10% THC, a improvement that most likely would dampen retail sales.

The Home Wellness and Human Solutions Committee authorized the bill Wednesday more than the objections of patient advocates, just weeks immediately after the state lifted a ban on smokable types of the plant.

Opponents argue that marijuana with larger THC levels are currently on the marketplace and that capping the percentage would hurt sufferers and enhance black-marketplace marijuana sales.

The 12-five vote was along celebration lines, with Republicans in favor and Democrats against.

Committee chair Ray Rodrigues, a Republican, claimed research have shown marijuana with THC levels above 10% can induce psychosis in some customers and THC levels beneath that quantity have been helpful for health-related use.
