What Are The Most Affordable CBD Products? The Cheapest CBD Oils, Gummies, & Soft Gels (That Are Still High Quality)

Most Affordable CBD Oil

Most Affordable CBD Oil

Most Affordable CBD OilCBD doesn’t have to be expensive.

Today you’re getting a list of the cheapest CBD oils, gummies, and capsules on the market, that are still of high quality.

You can get affordable, high-quality CBD products that will cost you around $1 per day (that’s cheaper than a cup of coffee)

But here’s the problem with 80% of cheap ‘CBD oils’:

They’re low quality.

They either:

  • Don’t contain the amount of CBD (and other cannabinoids) as specified on the label…
  • Or they didn’t undergo strict quality control measures like being subjected to multiple 3th-party lab-tests that check for contaminants.

Quickly go to…

How We Rate CBD Products on Quality and Affordability

All products on this list passed the following three requirements:

  1. The final biochemical composition of the oil, including ingredients, cannabinoid-profiles, and the absence of contaminants like heavy metals, pesticides, and residual solvents are 100% transparent and clear.
  2. It’s 100% transparent and clear what type of hemp plants are used to extract the CBD, where they’re grown, and how they’re grown.
  3. The manufacturing process, including extraction methods and solvents used, is 100% transparent and clear.

You can be sure that all products on this list are clean of contaminants and contain the amount of CBD (and other cannabinoids) as specified on the label.

Since this list is about the most affordable CBD products, the most important metric for rating these products is ‘value for money’.

We express ‘value for money’ in the following terms:

How much hemp-extract (including CBD) does $1 get you?

Here’s why we care more about how much hemp-extract we get vs how much CBD we get:

Various studies indicate and show that CBD can be up to 4-times more potent when taken as part of a full-spectrum hemp-extract (1).

Scientific Sources

  • 1. Pamplona, F. A., da Silva, L. R., & Coan, A. C. (2018). Potential Clinical Benefits of CBD-Rich Cannabis Extracts Over Purified CBD in Treatment-Resistant Epilepsy: Observational Data Meta-analysis. Frontiers in Neurology9, 1. https://doi.org/10.3389/fneur.2018.00759

Based on these studies and our own experience, we believe that CBD is best taken together with all other beneficial hemp-derived cannabinoids and terpenes.

A product that contains a lot of CBD but little to no other hemp-derived cannabinoids and terpenes is, in our opinion, comparatively less valuable than a product that contains less CBD, but has a significantly better cannabinoid- and terpene-profile.

If product A contains more CBD for the same price as product B, it doesn’t automatically mean you will get more value for your money with product A. Product B might contain less CBD, but may contain a much wider variety of hemp-extracted cannabinoids and terpenes, and may contain these in higher concentrations.

Some of these other hemp-extracted compounds act synergistically to CBD, plus have uniquely beneficial effects of their own.

To rate a CBD product on ‘value for money’, we need to know the full cannabinoid- and terpene-profile of the product. Not only its CBD-content.

That being said…

Let’s get started with the most affordable CBD oils.

The Cheapest CBD Oils That Are Still of Great Quality

CBD oil or CBD tinctures are the oily extractions of hemp compounds, diluted with a carrier oil like olive oil or MCT oil.

When looking at the amount of CBD you get per $1, CBD oils are generally more affordable than other products like CBD gummies, or soft gels. However, they’re more expensive than distillates and powders.

BIG CAVEAT:

Although powders and distillates are more affordable, purely from a perspective of how much CBD you get…

When we look at:

  • The bio-availability of CBD, which refers to how much of the CBD you ingest gets absorbed by your body, and;
  • How many other hemp-derived cannabinoids and terpenes you get that act synergistically to CBD,

We find CBD oils (or tinctures) give you the best value for your money of all CBD products.

The Best Value for Money CBD Oils:

Quickly go to…

1. R+R Medicinals CBD Oil (Most Affordable Full-Spectrum CBD Oil)

R+R Medicinals

R+R MedicinalsR+R Medicinals is without a doubt our #1 value for money CBD brand.

Whether you’re looking for an affordable CBD oil or affordable CBD gummies

Everything R+R Medicinals sells scores super-high on ‘value for money’.

If you buy their biggest bottle, which contains 2500mg and costs $96.99…

A single dollar ($1) gets you 25.8 mg of full-spectrum hemp-extract.

You won’t be able to find a more affordable, high-quality full-spectrum CBD oil.

See, full-spectrum CBD products are often relatively expensive.

For a full-spectrum CBD product, to be truly ‘full-spectrum’, it needs to be produced from a hemp plant that:

  • Has a wide variety of cannabinoids and terpenes, and;
  • Has high concentrations of all these different cannabinoids and terpenes.

These type of hemp plants with favorable genetics for human consumption, are more expensive to obtain and cultivate.

But there’s another reason why these products are relatively more expensive.

Keeping all the volatile cannabinoids and terpenes inside a full-spectrum CBD product means it can’t undergo an as extensive filtering process as other types of CBD products.

This, in turn, means that the soil in which the source plants are cultivated, need to be as clean as it gets.

Hemp is a ‘bio-accumulator’ plant. It absorbs everything from the soil, including harmful heavy metal particles and chemical waste.

If you can’t filter these contaminants out, you need to be sure the soil is clean. Keeping soil clean costs money, money that will lead to higher prices of the end-product.

Despite all these factors that increase the price of full-spectrum CBD products, R+R Medicinals CBD oil is extremely affordable. Their products contain a wide variety of cannabinoids and terpenes in high concentrations.

All of their products are backed by 3th-party lab-test reports that prove that their products are completely clean of contaminants and contain high concentrations of cannabinoids and terpenes.

2. CBDfx (Most Affordable CBD Vape Oil)

Although not as affordable as R+R Medicinals…

CBDfx products can be qualified as ‘superb value for money’ as well.

Most of their products are full-spectrum products. Besides CBD they contain a variety of other hemp-derived cannabinoids and terpenes.

The best part about CBDfx is that they supply a wide variety of CBD products. Not just edible CBD oils and gummies

But more niche products like sublingual strips, beauty products like CBD face masks and serums, and topical products like creams and balms, as well.

However:

Their best value for money product is the CBD vape oil.

It’s one of the few CBD vape oils that contain a high concentration of terpenes.

Terpenes are highly beneficial compounds but besides that…

They’re the compounds that give the different hemp and marijuana strains their unique smell and taste.

This means you get a very-well tasting vape oil, based on pure natural hemp-derived ingredients.

Of course, all their products are 3th-party lab-tested and free of contaminants.

And all their products are made from hemp plants organically cultivated in Kentucky hemp farms.

And if you want to test the waters, you’ll be happy to know they provide a full 30-day satisfaction guarantee.

When we look at how much CBD and/or hemp-extract for one single dollar, we see that CBD vape oils are more expensive than tinctures.

However, you have to keep in mind that 1 mg of vaped CBD has a significantly better absorption-rate than 1 mg. of orally ingested CBD.

Plus, it works quicker and usually provides immediate relief. The downside of vaping CBD is that the effects don’t last as long as ingesting it orally.

A single dollar ($1) gets you 8.3 mg of terpene-rich CBD vape oil.

3. JoyOrganics (Most Affordable Broad-Spectrum Oil)

Joy Organics

Joy OrganicsNot everyone wants to consume THC.

For example:

  • You might be subjected to regular drug-tests, or
  • You might be sensitive to THC.

In both cases, it’s best if you avoid THC. And if you want to avoid THC, you have to avoid true full-spectrum CBD products. They always contain at least some THC.

But that doesn’t necessarily mean that you have to avoid all other beneficial hemp-derived cannabinoids and terpenes…

In fact, even if you’re looking for affordable, THC-free CBD products, I highly recommend getting a CBD product that contains additional hemp-derived cannabinoids and terpenes.

And when it comes to affordable, THC-free CBD products, that still have a great cannabinoid- and terpene-profile, despite being THC-free

Joy Organics makes it to the top of the list.

A single dollar ($1) gets you 15.8 mg of THC-free, broad-spectrum hemp-extract.

Their CBD oil has a terpene-percentage of 1.76%. This is much higher than 90% of CBD oils. In fact, it’s the highest concentration of terpenes of all CBD products on this list.

Terpenes are an often-overlooked ingredient when it comes to CBD products.

Various studies indicate that it’s not only cannabinoids like THC, CBG, and CBC that play an important role in the ‘entourage effect’ of CBD, but terpenes as well (2).

Scientific Sources

Joy Organics proves that making CBD products THC-free, doesn’t mean you have to strip them from all other beneficial cannabinoids and terpenes as well.

4. cbdMD (Most Affordable CBD Oil for Sleep)

cbdMD CBD PM for Sleep

cbdMD CBD PM for SleepcbdMD is another THC-free ‘broad-spectrum’ CBD products producer.

THC-free CBD products are also called ‘broad-spectrum’.

This term indicates that although the product doesn’t contain a full spectrum of hemp-derived cannabinoids and terpenes, it contains a ‘broad-spectrum’…just never any THC.

Now:

ALL cbdMD products are broad-spectrum. And they have a huge selection of CBD products, including products I’ve never seen anywhere else like CBD free rollers.

But the best part:

If you’re looking to use CBD mainly for sleep, they have a CBD oil and CBD capsules specifically formulated for that purpose. These CBD sleep products contain:

  • Broad-spectrum hemp-extract;
  • Melatonin, and
  • A blend of sleep-improving herbs.

A single dollar ($1) gets you 11.1 mg of THC-free, broad-spectrum hemp-extract with additional sleep-improving compounds.

On top of being very affordable, you get a 30-day satisfaction guarantee and a 60-day guarantee on some products like capsules.

5. SOL CBD Advanced Liposomal CBD (Most Affordable Liposomal CBD Oil)

Various scientific studies have shown that orally ingested cannabinoids like CBD and THC aren’t well absorbed because of the “first-pass effect” (3).

Scientific Sources

  • 3. Millar, S. A., Stone, N. L., Yates, A. S., & O’Sullivan, S. E. (2018). A Systematic Review on the Pharmacokinetics of Cannabidiol in Humans. Frontiers in Pharmacology, 9, 1. https://doi.org/10.3389/fphar.2018.01365

The first-pass effect refers to the metabolization and degradation of compounds like CBD in the gastrointestinal tract and liver before they reach the bloodstream. In the case of CBD, metabolization in the gastrointestinal tract and liver leads to loss of potency.

Recently developed manufacturing techniques have attempted to break CBD down into smaller liposomal lipids. The theory is that the liposomal version of CBD is more bio-available than the regular form.

And while research about this topic is still in its infancy, there are some indications suggesting that liposomal CBD may indeed be more bio-available than regular CBD (4).

Scientific Sources

  • 4. Cherniakov, I., Izgelov, D., Domb, A. J., & Hoffman, A. (2017). The effect of Pro NanoLipospheres (PNL) formulation containing natural absorption enhancers on the oral bioavailability of delta-9-tetrahydrocannabinol (THC) and cannabidiol (CBD) in a rat model. European Journal of Pharmaceutical Sciences, 109, 21–30. https://doi.org/10.1016/j.ejps.2017.07.003

Now:

There are various ‘nano-emulsified’ or ‘liposomal’ CBD products on the market.

But there’s only one which has some scientific evidence for its efficacy:

SOL CBD Advanced Liposomal CBD.

This CBD oil is manufactured with CellG8 technology, which is a new patent-pending process for liposomal delivery of hemp-extract.

According to a study that’s funded by the company that developed this technique, CellG8 delivery was 17x better absorbed than traditional edibles (5).

Scientific Sources

This means you would need MUCH less CBD to achieve the same effects with this product. How much exactly is unclear because the study didn’t look at the differences in effects, only in bio-availability.

But IF these study results are true, my estimate is that you may need 10x less the amount of liposomal CellG8 CBD to produce the same results as with regular CBD.

Further studies should be done to show whether this is truly the case, but for now, we assume that 100mg of SOL CBD liposomal is equivalent to 1000mg of regular CBD.

If we go by this equation, this CBD oil will give you the most bang for your buck.

Because a single bottle of this liposomal CBD costs $90 and contains 300mg of liposomal CellG8 hemp-extract. Buying this product would be similar to buying 3000mg of regular CBD-rich hemp-extract, making this CBD oil the most affordable CBD product.

A single dollar ($1) gets you 3.3 mg of THC-free, broad-spectrum, CellG8 liposomal hemp-extract.

Again, IF we assume that 1mg of this CBD is 10x more effective than regular CBD, it means that $1 gets you the equivalent of 33mg of regular broad-spectrum hemp-extract.

But there’s a catch.

Since there’s only limited scientific evidence that this liposomal CBD product is indeed 10x more effective than a regular CBD product, we have to be a bit reserved.

Until more scientific evidence is available, I will put this CBD product lower on the list than it may deserve.

The Cheapest CBD Gummies That Are Still of Great Quality

Although CBD gummies are usually more expensive than CBD oils, when we look at how much hemp-extract you get per $1…

They are more convenient to take.

Not everyone likes the idea of pulling out a bottle and dropping oil with a big dropper under the tongue.

Using CBD oil tincture isn’t very discreet, so if you’re looking for a convenient or discreet method to use CBD, gummies are one of your best options.

R+R Medicinals CBD Gummies (Most Affordable Full-Spectrum Gummies)

R+R Medicnals CBD Gummies

R+R Medicnals CBD GummiesR+R Medicinals gummies are one of the few true full-spectrum CBD gummies.

While most CBD gummies contain only CBD, or CBD plus a few trace amounts of other cannabinoids…

These gummies are infused with the full spectrum of hemp-derived cannabinoids and terpenes.

Besides CBD, these gummies contain the following cannabinoids:

  • THC (< 0.3%);
  • CBC, and;
  • CBG.

They also contain terpenes like

  • Linalool, and;
  • Limonene.

For $1 you get 16.7 mg of full-spectrum hemp-extract.

If you want to keep your gummies fully plant-based, you’ll also be happy to know that all ingredients inside these gummies are vegan.

The best part?

While these gummies taste amazing, the sugar-content is low: 3.5 grams of sugar per gummy.

A single gummy contains 25mg of full-spectrum hemp-extract…

Joy Organics CBD Gummies (Most Affordable Broad-Spectrum Gummies)

JoyOrganics CBD Gummies

JoyOrganics CBD GummiesWhile true full-spectrum CBD gummies are hard to find…

True broad-spectrum CBD gummies are just as hard to find.

See, most CBD gummies contain nothing else but CBD.

They’re not truly infused with a full- or broad-spectrum hemp-extract.

Well, when it comes to the best, affordable, broad-spectrum CBD gummies

Joy Organics makes it to the top of the list.

These gummies are THC-free, but still contain other hemp-derived cannabinoids than just CBD.

Plus, you get hemp-derived terpenes that are thought to act synergistically to CBD as well.

In addition to being THC-free, these gummies are:

  • Vegan;
  • Gluten-free, and;
  • Taste great with two different flavor options, green apple and strawberry lemonade.

But best of all:

They’re highly affordable.

For $1 you get 9.1 mg of broad-spectrum hemp-extract.

While this is quite a bit less of hemp-extract than you get with R+R Medicinals gummies, keep in mind that true broad-spectrum CBD gummies that contain a wide variety of hemp-derived cannabinoids and terpenes are very hard to find.

JustCBD Gummies (Most Affordable Isolate Gummies)

JustCBD Gummies

JustCBD GummiesAs explained earlier in the article, for the best benefits CBD has to offer…

We highly recommend getting a full-spectrum, or at least a broad-spectrum CBD product.

All cannabinoids, terpenes, and flavonoids inside the hemp plant have beneficial effects, plus act synergistically to CBD.

But when we look at how much CBD you get for a single dollar, CBD isolate products are much more affordable.

JustCBD gummies are an example of high-quality CBD gummies that ONLY contain CBD.

For $1 you get 35.3 mg of CBD.

What I like most about these gummies is that you have the option to get sugar-free gummies.

There are very few CBD gummies that are sugar-free, and if having no sugar is a top priority for you, JustCBD gummies are currently your best option.

Also, if against all our recommendations, you want CBD gummies that ONLY contain CBD and no other beneficial hemp-derived compounds, these gummies are your best bet.

The Cheapest CBD Soft Gels and Capsules That Are Still of Great Quality

Soft gels are another convenient and discreet method of using CBD.

Most CBD soft gels and capsules contain regular CBD oil.

Usually, they’re less cost-effective than regular CBD oils.

Some CBD soft gels contain nano-emulsified hemp-extract. In theory, nano-emulsified CBD is better absorbed by your body. However, without any scientific evidence, I don’t feel confident to pin any numbers as to how much more potent nano-emulsified CBD is compared to regular CBD.

Even though there are a few studies that indeed found a particular form of nano-emulsified or liposomal CBD is more readily absorbed by your body compared to regular CBD, as long as I don’t see any studies about the particular form of nano-emulsification of a brand, I’m hesitant to express in numbers how much more potent a particular nano-emulsified CBD product is compared to a regular CBD product.

That being said, if you’re looking for a discreet and quick way to use CBD, and don’t want to use CBD gummies, soft gels are another quick and discreet way to use CBD.

R+R Medicinals CBD Soft Gels (Most Affordable Full-Spectrum Soft Gels)

R+R Medicinals Soft Gels

R+R Medicinals Soft GelsBy now you should know:

If R+R Medicinals has a CBD product in that particular category, you can be sure that it will score highest on value for money.

These soft gels are without a doubt the best value for money, full-spectrum soft gels.

$1 gets you 22mg of full-spectrum hemp-extract.

According to R+R Medicinals, these soft gels contain nano-emulsified full-spectrum hemp-extract and the main difference between their CBD oil and soft gels are that the soft gels have:

  • A slower onset of effects, but;
  • Longer lasting effects.

If you take CBD oil sublingually, this would theoretically be true.

Various studies have found that CBD has a slightly quicker onset of effect when taken sublingually compared to when it’s only swallowed.

However, when you take sublingually, you also swallow it. This means the difference in effects won’t be that big in practice.

For me, the biggest difference in CBD oil and soft gels is the convenience of taking soft gels. In my experience, which also has some scientific evidence to back it, CBD taken together with a dietary oil has the best effects, when looking at similar amounts of hemp-extract taken.

Since all CBD oils also contain a carrier oil like MCT oil or olive oil, this is more easily achieved with a regular CBD oil.

NanoCraft CBD Capsules

NanoCraft CBD Capsules

NanoCraft CBD CapsulesNanoCraft CBD capsules are another great affordable option if you’re looking for THC-free CBD capsules.

NanoCraft prides itself on its patent-pending nano-emulsification technology.

According to them, their nano-emulsified CBD products are up to five times more bioavailable than oil-based products.

And their capsules contain 25mg of nano-emulsified, broad-spectrum hemp-extract.

A single bottle of $79.99 contains 30 capsules.

This means for $1 you get 9.37mg of nano-emulsified, CBD-rich, broad-spectrum hemp-extract.

IF their claim regarding the bioavailability of their nano-emulsified products is true…

It means you would get the equivalent of 37.5mg regular broad-spectrum hemp-extract…

Making these soft gels the most affordable on the list.

But unless I see scientific proof of this claim, I can’t accept this claim as fully true.

That being said, even if the bioavailability was only two times more bioavailable than regular CBD, it’s still a great cost-effective option and deserves a spot on our list.

How Much CBD Do I Need to Benefit From Its Effects?

As you can see, there are large differences between products and brands, in the amount of CBD and hemp-extract you get for every $1.

How much CBD or hemp-extract you need to benefit from CBD’s effects is highly dependent on the following factors:

It’s very hard to give general guidelines.

We dedicated a complete article to everything related to using CBD:

How Cheap Should You Go With CBD Products

If you’re purely interested in CBD and not in any other hemp-derived compounds, you can get very cheap CBD isolate products like 99% CBD isolate powders.

For as little as $8, you can get 1000 milligrams of CBD isolate powder, which is 125mg of CBD for $1.

This is much cheaper than any CBD oil.

I still wouldn’t recommend getting this though, because as explained before, various studies indicate that CBD is much more potent taken as part of a full-plant hemp-extract, plus it produces fewer side effects this way.

The most affordable regular CBD oil is the one from R+R Medicinals.

The most affordable liposomal CBD oil is the one from SOL CBD.

Why You Have to Be Careful with Cheap CBD Products

As explained before, hemp is a bio-accumulator plant that absorbs contaminants from the soil it’s cultivated in.

All these contaminants will end up inside your CBD oil, and for some of them like heavy metal micro-particles, there’s no easy way of filtering them out (6).

Scientific Sources

In other cases, hemp farmers that want to increase their yield maybe make use of dangerous pesticides, which again, will end up inside the final product (6).

Scientific Sources

Cultivating hemp plants contaminant- and pesticide-free is simply more expensive. But when it comes to ingestible health products like CBD products, you don’t want to take any health risks.

NEVER buy CBD products from a questionable source, saving a few dollars is not worth the health risk.

How to be 100% Sure That Your CBD Products Are Clean

The first way to make sure that your products are 100% clean of contaminants like heavy metal micro-particles and pesticides, is checking whether the batch under which your specific CBD product is produced is subjected to 3th-party lab tests.

Once, you’ve found that it is, you need to check for the following tests:

  • Cannabinoid-profile and -content;
  • Terpenoid-profile and -content;
  • Absence/presence of heavy metals;
  • Absence/presence of mycotoxins;
  • Absence/presence of pesticides;
  • Absence/presence of residual solvents.

Now, once you’ve found all these tests and found that the particular product you’re interested in, is clean, you can be relatively sure that you have a clean product.

However, if you want extra assurance, I recommend you check/ask where the hemp plants used to produce your product are cultivated and with what type of farming principles are being adhered to.

A question that we always ask before reviewing a CBD brand and you could ask is the following:

What farming principles are being adhered to? Organic? non-organic? Does the farmer make use of organic/non-organic pesticides?
