I got a really, really bad white out, any of you know how they work so I can at least avoid one like it?

White outs are pretty normal to me, but last night I got easily my worst one. I got the usual half tv static vision, drowned out hearing and discomfort that comes from a bad whiteout but for what felt like forever. It only started to calm down when I put my head on my desk and just held the figurative line as best I could. I know I was really stressed about stuff in my life that night so my guess is it was some kinda awful mix of panic attack and white out.
